A Star Wars parody. Though the film was never completed, this short movie sequence is a compilation of the material that was shot and is intended as a tribute in the spirit of what the finished movie might have been. Half comp. Once again, notice the line through Han's sleeve. This is due to the comped version having been color graded.

For the flying shots, the raw footage was scaled down and then gradually scaled up in order to create the illusion that the ship was flying toward the camera from far away.

Most of the shots looking out windows in cockpits are composed of several layers; there is the spacey background at the very back, the other ships flying around outside of the cockpit on top of that, the explosion effects on top of that, then the image of the cockpit itself, and then on top of everything is the raw footage with the greenscreen removed.

Our greenscreen set, assembled in the school gymnasium. The frame it is clamped to consists of two long wooden benches propped up vertically against the wall. One of the benches fell over one time and came very close to landing on my head. I was really pissed off because the accident ended up tearing the greenscreen.

Why the bloody pants, you might be wondering? Well, it's because while doing these test shots we were simultaneously shooting the final scenes of "Slicer".

All the existing footage of the space ships was shot for testing purposes only and was not intended to be used for any of the official shots. However, it was all I had available to use when I compiled the film.

A painted plumbing fitting attached to a green rod to create the flying space ship effects.

This shot was only intended to be used to test out the flying ship effects, but because it was the only material available, I made use of it for the compilation of the film.

Getting ready to shoot. Corey gets help from Rob fitting into the Screwy costume, while Adrian takes a break from wearing his uncomfortable beard.

Real set pieces were used for anything the actors had to physically interact with.

On set getting ready to shoot. This time I'm the one getting into the Screwy costume.

Much of the film was also to be shot on location. This was a particularly miserable moment because it was a bit of a trek into the marsh where we were filming, hauling all our gear into the woods (including Vacuum Cleaner), it was hot, we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes, our feet were soaking wet, and I was frustrated trying to get the exposure to look right, shooting into the sky (we were using a consumer camcorder that did not have manual exposure controls). We were all very angry.
